2024 may bring the best Auroras in 20 years

These are not my words, but National Geographic’s

If you’ve been moderately active on social media this year, chances are you have seen the craze: the Northern Lights will be the brightest they’ve been in decades. This is your chance to hop on a journey chasing the Aurora Borealis while immersing yourself into the surreal sceneries of Norway, together with a curated group of people who’ll make you feel safe, loved and empowered.

If seeing the Northern Lights is a bucket list item for you, 2024 is the year to get it done, and this trip is the best way to do it.

What's the focus?

As always, Ate’s Retreats aren’t just trips. They are safe spaces for you to learn, grow and foster new friendships that will change your life.

Our Norway escape is not only a way for us to visit and sightsee this dreamy destination, but also a retreat meant to network and work on your professional and personal development. Expect workshops, wellbeing activities, hot seat sessions and more!

My goal is for you to leave this retreat with a new perspective upon life, feeling lighter, more confident and motivated to turn your dreams into reality. All that while ticking off our common bucket list goal: seeing the Northern Lights.

"I learned so much more than I could have imagined. I met the most amazing and inspiring people, had super interesting workshops that gave me new perspectives, built strong friendships, and most importantly, I learned to know my own value."
Julia Davids
Retreat Graduate

My network brought me over $100,000 in two years.

...and friendly reminder, I’m a Romanian girl in my early twenties!

In 2019, I was stuck in a toxic workplace paying me $1000 a month to organize retreats. While the workdays were long and the pay was never enough, I loved my job. I worked so passionately that something magical happened: the retreat attendees – my then clients – became my network.

And I’m happy to say that they are my friends to this day, who helped me see my own potential and the value in the work I was doing. They told me to leave the company, so I did. I was scared, but they were right. Because fast forward to today, I own my own marketing and media company, worked with over 20 businesses around the US, some of them huge corporations like HarperCollins.

Slowly, I learned how to play the game: I increased my rates, built connections, leveraged my skills and ended up becoming part of the 0.7% income earners of Romania. Something that would’ve never been possible without my friends’ feedback and support.

My network brought me free trips: fully paid flights, business and leisure trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Tenerife or Bali. All because I knew the right people, and they knew my worth. It also gave me friends in every corner of the world.

..but it’s not only about the money.

It also brought me something money can’t buy: friendships that helped me grow. Women I can travel with, be silly with one moment then talk business the other. People that welcomed me to their homes whenever I traveled to their countries. Friends that I could go to when life got hectic, when I needed a shoulder to cry on.

Having a group that allows you to be fully yourself while motivating you to grow is something extremely rare, special and priceless. And that’s what I want you to have by joining my retreat.

THIS is the power of networking.

These are all examples of what my network has brought me. I’m excited to see what it’ll bring YOU.

Come chase the light in Norway: both in the sky and within (too corny?)

Itinerary

6 days across the most beautiful villages in the Lofoten Archipelago and across the Senja island, including all of the must-see sights of Northern Norway!

Part 1: The Exploring

Our journey starts from Tromsø, the vibrant capital of the North, where you should fly in. We will pick you up and embark on an awe-inspiring journey towards the city of Senja. We will hike up the famous Hesten Trail, and explore the Ersfjordstranda beach where golden sands meet the Arctic Ocean. We’ll continue with more breathtaking spots such as Tungeneset Senja and the Bergsbotn viewing platform.

The second day brings a scenic journey to the Lofoten Islands, with a stop in the postcard-perfect Hamnoy village, where vibrant red fishing cabins contrast against the deep blue waters. From there, we’ll make our way to the Sakrisoy village, a hidden gem nestled amidst mountains and fjords.

The third day will find us in the stunning village of Reine. Brace yourself for a morning filled with breathtaking beauty as we explore this picturesque gem, making stops at spots that will leave you in awe.

On day 4, we set our sights on the Skagsanden Beach. Prepare to be mesmerized by the shimmering sands and the azure hues of the Arctic Ocean, creating a stunning backdrop for relaxation and exploration. You have the option to go up the Ryten hike, a rewarding route that will bring you to the panoramic vistas of Lofoten’s awe-inspiring landscapes. This is a medium to hard hike, so it’s optional!

On day 5, we’ll be making our way to Svolvaer, but not without stopping by the coastal paradise that Uttakleiv Beach is. At sunset, we’ll gather together for a sizzling barbeque dinner.

On day 6 we’ll make our way back to Tromso. But here’s a surprise! I want us to have an unforgettable final day together, so we prepared a truly special stop along the way. We’ll be visiting a Norwegian family’s home! This is a unique cultural exchange, where we’ll have the opportunity to prepare and share local delicacies, showcasing the traditions of our heritage. This encounter is more than just a stop on our journey; it embodies the very essence of what this retreat stands for: It’s a celebration of connection, embracing the values of community, understanding and respect.

Please note, the itinerary is subject to change, especially due to unpredictable weather conditions. Also note that no trip to Northern Europe can 100% guarantee the sightings of the Northern Lights, however, the location and date of our trip is chosen so that the chances of seeing them are as high as possible. I am partnering with a team of professionals who have extensive experience in trips dedicated to chasing the Aurora, so you will be provided with nothing but our best efforts to witness it.

Part 2: The learning

Each day will bring us a different learning opportunity as we get to spend time together in our cabins, teaching each other different subjects. Each participant is encouraged to come up with their own workshop, lesson or practice. This is a unique chance for you to showcase your skills, talents or motivational life story and present yourself as the professional that you are.

Whether you’d like to run a hard skill/technical workshop (photography, video editing, marketing etc), a well-being activity (breathwork, women’s circle, holistic dance), or a physical one (yoga lesson, salsa class), anything will be highly appreciated!

I will be teaching some of the topics I excel in, such as Becoming a Digital Nomad, The Art of Networking, or others, depending on group needs. We might also have other speakers joining us in some of the days, so look forward to that!

Part 2: The healing

I believe that there is no better place in this world to heal and contemplate on life than in a log cabin somewhere in the snowy hills of Norway, while chasing the Northern Lights.

Expect wellbeing and holistic activities such as women’s circles, hot seats (aka group therapy), guided journaling and more. We will open up to each other, heal our traumas and learn to be vulnerable. My goal is that, by the end of the week, you’ll leave this retreat understanding your true value and potential.
